Using the DMS-80 distance sensor

The DMS-80 distance sensor uses infrareds to measure a distance in a precise manner. It has a low sensibility to the obstacle's color.

The DMS-80 distance sensor is shipped with a 3pins-5pins cable and can therefore be used with the CM-510, CM-530 andCM-700 controllers.

The pins of the DMS-80 distance sensor are as follows:

  1. Supply voltage VCC (5V)
  2. Ground
  3. Analogic output ADC corresponding to the distance

The voltage on the ADC pin of the DMS-80 distance sensor can be linked to the distance to an obstacle using the following curves:
