With our engineering design office (GRLAB), we are proud to be one of the leaders in the design and programming of these advanced systems. We meet the varied needs of large companies and SMEs, providing tailor-made solutions that turn innovative ideas into concrete realities.

In this article, discover our successful projects, carried out by our engineers, which illustrate our expertise and our ability to innovate in the field of mobile robot manipulators.

University of Freiburg customer case study: four mobile manipulator robots supplied by the GRLAB

Génération Robots has supplied four mobile manipulator robots equipped with omnidirectional platforms, telescopic columns and robotic arms for the University of Freiburg, a prestigious research institution. The aim of the project was to develop robotic assistance for domestic tasks, in particular for the elderly and people with reduced mobility.

Technical challenges included creating a single stop button for all components, integrating a column, managing the complex power supply to the robotic arm, increasing energy autonomy and adapting the amplitude of the arms for manipulating objects. The project resulted in the delivery of teleoperable robots, with a base ready to evolve towards complete autonomy.

Quadruped robots with robotic arm

Génération Robots is an official distributor of Boston Dynamics and Unitree Robotics, two major players in the quadruped robot market. Both brands offer the option of equipping their robot dogs with a robotic arm:

SPOT ARM de Boston Dynamics

Spot Arm from Boston Dynamics can be used to carry loads, move objects and carry out maintenance tasks in warehouses and distribution centres.

Z1 from Unitree Robotics

Z1 can cooperate with the robot dog B2. It can be used for industrial applications such as logistics or simple services such as picking up objects, opening and closing doors, fastening screws, etc.

"Ready-to-use" business packages

University & Research Spot

Designed for research, education and the development of new applications, the “Spot Academia & Education” package features ready-to-use functions that open up a wide range of possibilities in the field of robotics.

Developers can exploit its autonomous capabilities, while the Spot Arm enables advanced interaction with the environment.

Spot is fully customisable and is an advanced tool for preparing students for the future of robotics.

Security Spot

The Spot State & Public Safety package offers a robust solution for reducing risks in potentially hazardous environments.

Spot can investigate suspicious packages, assist in hostage situations by providing crucial information remotely, and detect a range of hazardous materials such as toxic substances and explosives.

Equipped with cameras, X-ray devices and a robotic arm, Spot enables first responders to intervene safely while maintaining a safe distance.

Customer case study: SERVAL project (remote operation of a robotic arm for nuclear decommissioning)

The SERVAL project focuses on the remote operation of a robotic arm mounted on a mobile platform for nuclear decommissioning.

This project is a collaboration between Génération Robots and the CEA (Commissariat à l’énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives – the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission), aimed at developing advanced technological solutions for highly complex and dangerous environments.
